Two new papers in December! Great end to the year!
Giovanni and Raj published a review in collaboration with Christian Siebold from the U.K. summarizing the recent findings about how multiple ligand binding sites on Smoothened regulate its function. PDF
Ganesh, Jenn, and Bhaven published their recent work on several CRISPR screens interrogating Hedgehog signaling in Developmental Cell. They found 3 new genes (including one gene they named "Atthog") involved in Smoothened trafficking in cilia. The screen results will hopefully be a great resource to both the cilia and Hedgehog fields! (PDF) The team was also awarded the cover image for the journal issue!
